Shick Hydro Silk Review

Alright, so recently I joined BzzAgent and after a process I got my first Campaign.  A Shick HydroSilk Razor for free and some coupons as well for $5 off to pass out to my friends that may want to try this razor! My first thought, is a razor is a razor.  I will use pretty much anything to shave with, I am so not picky when it comes to that, maybe because I don't shave my legs as often as I should, because I have tried expensive, and tried cheap.  So I was already "eh" on trying this razor.  I received it, and let me tell you guys, I love it.  This razor is great because it does have 5 blades for an extra close shave, which is important for me.  The moisturizing bar is above and below the bars so it feels like you are applying lotion immediately after shaving. No razor burn! The rubber handle is great and ergonomically designed, meaning it would sit funny on your shelves in your shower or tub, wherever you choose to do the deed.  I can say that after trying this product, a razor isn't just a razor anymore!

oh, how pinteresting!

I decided to do my first link party with The Vintage Apple for oh, how pinteresting!  and take a break from promoting business stuff and whatnot!

Here is a look at what I have been pinning this week and hopefully will be trying out as well!
If this works, that would be incredible!

I always see these at the dollar store and want to buy them, but never know what I would do with them...I think this is the key!

I love a good gyro, this looks like it would be delish!

I run into this problem more times than I would like to admit

A goal of mine this year is to be more frugal! I think this would help cut down those costs for cream soups!

Who doesn't love a clean disposal?
Remember MASH? Lying game it was. hahaha

Origami Owl!

I am so EXCITED to share this with you all!!

I am officially a designer for Origami Owl!  This is such a great product!  I love my locket so much!

It's got the concept of a charm bracelet, and a locket put together.

YOU pick the charms, the locket, plate or no plate, the chain length and style.

Tell your story with your locket!

This is mine...

In my locket I have the infinity symbol, a little boy with an August birthstone, a little boy with December's birthstone, a heart shaped June birthstone(my birth month) and a heart shaped February birthstone(Brandon's birth month).  The plate says blessed.  I get so many compliments all the time on this piece of jewelery! Check out my website and put together a locket today!! I promise you won't be disappointed! Just click the link, look around and read the story behind Origami Owl, and if interested click on SHOP up at the top and start your creation!

No More Broken Makeup!

This week I tackled fixing my broken powder!  I have been dealing with the "crumbs" for awhile now.  It was a sad day when it broke, and doesn't it always seem to happen when you JUST get a new product?!  The slow motion feeling comes about as your makeup falls to a hard fall on the bathroom floor!  So when I ran across this tutorial, I figured it was worth a shot! Here is the Pinspiration...

And here is my version:

I will go through the directions..

You will need:
Rubbing Alcohol
Something you can use as a spatula
A small makeup brush
A small square of plastic wrap
PAPER TOWEL
(dropper is optional, I just found this to be easier)

Okay so first, you want to cover your makeup tightly with the plastic wrap.
Then you will want to take your spatula and finely crush the pieces of makeup so you have a really fine powder.  I did this all over the paper towel, to avoid a huge mess.

Take the plastic wrap off, and add some rubbing alcohol.  I used a dropper for this and filled the dropper up about 3 times.  You want the makeup to become very creamy in consistency.

Now, take your makeup brush and smooth everything out. I obviously had an issue getting it really smooth looking, I am thinking I didn't use enough rubbing alcohol.

Let it sit and dry for a few hours.  When all is said and done, you will have makeup that looks like new!  Mine may not look like the original post, but its better than crumbs, so I am still very happy with this!

Chips & SALSA!

I don't know if I am alone here or not, but I could probably eat most all of the salsa at a restaurant, WHEN it is good.  When I married my husband, I am pretty sure that I lucked out.  His Grandma is from Mexico and makes an amazing salsa.  So amazing that I used to get excited for leftovers! I made Brandon get the recipe from her so that he can make it at home.  I was pregnant at the time and NEEDED it in my life.

What you will need:

-Can of WHOLE PEELED TOMATOES (28 oz can)
-About 3 stalks of green onions(washed)
-A bushel of cilantro(washed)
-Garlic Salt
-Crushed Red Pepper

The first thing you want to do is open your can of tomatoes and pour some of the juice out.  You don't want watery salsa!  Dump the tomatoes in a blender, close the lid and hit the pulse button about 3 times.  Just quick little blend is all you need so that the tomatoes become chunky salsa looking!  Pour it out into the bowl for the remaining preparation

Next you want to take your green onions and chop just the very end off, still leave some white at the end.  I then slice the green onion length wise, then start the normal chopping.  You want to FINELY chop this up. Add this to the bowl of tomatoes

Take the cilantro and just go chop wild on this.  Chop it up as small as you possibly can, you will want to add about a cup of cilantro to the salsa.  Maybe 1 1/2 cups.  Throw this in the bowl with the other ingredients.

Now you want to add a heaping tablespoon of garlic salt, and a tablespoon of crushed red pepper.  The crushed red pepper is REALLY based on taste...how HOT do you like it?

When you are done, stir it all up, and you will have something that resembles this yummy goodness!

I use it on chips, on steak, on Spanish rice, my two year old even loves it!  Questions and comments are ALWAYS welcome!

Avon Campaign 4

So new brochures started, and I have gone through and just highlighted some of the buys that I think are well worth looking at !!  $.99 for Avon's famous Totally Kissable Lipstick with any $10 purchase! Huge savings!!

Mascara's at $5.99 and $4.99.  You can't get that price for quality mascara anywhere!  The Super Extend Extreme has won awards and gives the look of lash extensions! I know that is my biggest concern,  I have like NO length on my natural eye lashes, but I am too challenged to put falsies on everyday!
Avon's Eye Liner....amazing stuff!  That is all there is to it!  And at 4 for $10, you can't pass that up!
My husband buys that Old Spice scented body wash for himself, until I showed him that Avon carries it too, now we get it from here and he hasn't complained, which tells me it is just as good if not better than anything you can buy in the store!  I recommend X-Series for the men, and it is only $3.99 right now, so it is definitely worth a try!
Skin So Soft at the LOWEST PRICE EVERRRR!!!  $1.69!! STOCK UP!!

Woo! THE MAKEOVER!

I am in love with my new blog layout!!  I sought the help of Sarah @ Fortune Favors to put this together for me, and I couldn't be happier with the turn out!  After a series of e-mails and little tweaks here and there, it was completed!  She did a great job, and the charge behind it seemed minimal to the amount of work she put into it!  I am way excited to get this blog to take off now!

Wake Me When 2013 is Over!

I am so ready for this year to change its tune!  A close family member has had some medical issues that have pursued since New Years Eve, and they have been struggling.  It always sucks to see someone you love suffer and not be able to help them out.

Then my poor little doggy that we have had since I was 13 had to be put to sleep yesterday.  She was 14 years old, legs were giving out, cancer, eyesight was going.  In her final days, it was really sad to see her suffer so we all made the decision that this was the best thing for her.  What an incredibly hard decision to make.  I didn't go with to the Vet because of Brock and Jaxton, I didn't feel that was the place for them to be.  Going to my Mom and Dad's house will be difficult for awhile I think.  She lived a long life for a chocolate lab, so we are ever so grateful, and of course we know that she is no longer suffering and waiting at the Rainbow Bridge.  A friend of mine shared this with me to help ease that pain of losing a pet.  I am going to post it here in hopes that it can help anyone who may be going through the same thing.
It's a nice way to look at things during a time of sadness.  She was a good dog, and I really hope she now can rest in peace.

Pinteresting Wednesday!

Can I start off by saying....I LOVE GLITTER!  I just want to sprinkle it everywhere I go! LOL

My craft for today was to glitter one of my house keys!  I found this craft through Pinterest, of course. The original post I found was here  Glitter Key.  The supplies consisted of rubbing alcohol, Mod Podge, Glitter and a clear acrylic sealer that happened to be made by Mod Podge as well.

Before I officially started I took a quick cotton ball of rubbing alcohol to the key to clean it up a little bit so that way the Mod Podge held the best it could.
The next thing I did was use a paintbrush to coat the key in Mod Podge.  I've heard of making your own homemade Mod Podge, but never got around to it, plus I seem to have a never ending supply of the stuff!

Next, I coated that bad girl in glitter.  I am in love with this glitter by the way.  It is such a fine glitter and it really sparkles!  I purchased it from Hobby Lobby for $3.99, it is called Poly Flake.

I let it sit for an hour, then I sprayed the clear coat over it.  This stuff has a strong odor to it, so I don't recommend using it in a small area.  I did it on my kitchen table, where I am typing this now and I can still smell it. Turn a fan on to get that air circulating, and for your glitter project to dry faster!  I put a clear coat on it to protect it.  The glitter likes to fall off with use so this helps to prevent that from happening.  Otherwise, you will have glitter everywhere! If you don't have the clear acrylic, clear nail polish is a good substitute too!

Then we have the final product!  Do you think my husband will let me do his?! ;)  With two boys, I do not get the chance to glitter everything, so it really is the little things that count!

Avon....Oh Avon.....

I think I am nuts trying to get started on a "work at home" business such as Avon, because it does take a lot of work....and patience.  I have a lot going on, but figured we need the income and I need to finish school.  SO I started it.  I have mixed feelings about it as I do not know where to begin!  I put the flyers out on the mailboxes in my neighborhood and will eventually push more at local businesses.  I feel awkwardly shy when it comes to doing stuff like that, but I have to keep saying it is for my kids. Haha :)  And being a "snow bird" area that I live in, this is the best time for me to try this out.  I am really hoping my website takes off and most of my orders go through there!  It would be amazing for this all to work out.  With a little help from friends and family I have hope!!
Look at the cute little Valentine's cookware they are offering for the holiday this year!!  Plus, it could totally be used year round!  Maybe your husband could even use it to make you a romantic heart shaped pancake breakfast! ;)
Use the code SNOWY at checkout for your free shipping offer right to your door!
Great sale on Skin So Soft!!!

With that being said, if you are ever in need of any Avon products visit my site!  Right now through the 15th it is FREE shipping on orders over $10.  You really can't beat that for some quality products at great prices!!

Jaxton's Winter "One"derland!

Jaxton recently celebrated his first birthday, so we thought we would play on the whole turning ONE, and being born in the winter months.  In Arizona.  Hahah.  So I created a winter wonderland, indoor style!
This is their invitation, the party was for my niece and my son who both were turning one within two weeks of each other, so we combined and I made this the best I could possibly do!  The back of the invite is neon colored card stock, in the middle is a photo of them within a few weeks of being born, and then a photo of them now.  I created the print layout and used vellum paper to print out and use as overlay!

I created marshmallow snowmen.  All it takes is a cake pop type of stick, three marshmallow and some M&M's, held together by a little frosting!
I used clear party punch cups to pour in some blue raspberry jellow and a sweedish fish.  Hobby Lobby carried snowman kits and I made them and then taped them onto the side of the cup.  The snowmen then held onto toothpicks with a string attached to make it look like they were fishing for the sweedish fish!

To create a cute display for centerpieces, I bought glittered floral arrangements and dollar store vases and made a great display.  It could be used year round at that!  I found mini ornaments at Target in their dollar section to use as a filler and the rest is history!

Snowmen were made out of powdered sugar donuts!  I took a food coloring pen and created the effect of a snowmen and put an orange Mike N Ike in the center to give the look of a nose.

I bought cute little mini Christmas trees from Target that were colored to give a less Christmas look.  I took ModPodge and covered clothespins with it, then sprinkled glittered all over every one of them.  I also began my obsession with glitter right around this time! Haha.  I used those to clip on pictures from the first month to their twelfth month as a display for how they have grown.  They were set upon their gift table and made a great piece of conversation.

What is a winter party without snow globes??  So we made snow globes with my nieces picture and my son's picture inside.  To make these, we bought jars from Hobby Lobby, added water, and a squirt of glycerin.  For the snow effect, we shaved a PVC pipe and added those shavings to the water.  The picture was laminated to make it water proof.  Then it was hot glued to the lid to create a stable environment of course.  A ribbon was added around the jar lid to give it a cute look and that was the end!
We made Rice Krispie treats to look like snowmen with brownie bite hats, licorice scarfs and a cinnamon heart nose.

The cupcakes were placed upon a stand decorated with garland that I stapled to the stand to create a festive look!
Snow flake sugar cookies were a must and even my oldest insisted on helping sprinkle on some blue sugar flakes!
I used Wilton's Mini Bear cake pan to make their smash cakes, and it worked out so amazing!

Juice boxes were wrapped in white paper and made to look like snowmen by cutting out eyes, mouth and nose with construction paper.   Ribbon was glued around the box to look like a scarf!

Everything turned out so great!!  It was A LOT of hard work.  But it is so amazing to see everything come together and all your hard work pay off to create a great party.  It is always nice to put forth a great effort for your kids and this was definitely one of those times!
